Der interdisziplinäre Kulturverein
Töchter der Kunst
versteht sich als
Realisierungsplattform spartenübergreifender Kunstformen.
Besonders junge Künstlerinnen und Künstler sowie Autodidaktinnen und Autodidakten
finden im Kunst-Projektraum Q-Pro in der Schellhammergasse - unweit vom Yppenplatz - einen Ort wo sie
sich probieren und ihre Werke (erstmals) einem Publikum präsentieren können.
Bei 'Töchter der Kunst' handelt es sich um eine Non-Profit-Organisation zur Förderung von Künstlerinnen und
Künstlern, ungeachtet deren Geschlecht, Herkunft, Religion oder sexueller Orientierung.
Die gesellschaftspolitische Relevanz von Kunst als demokratisierendem Medium wird in den Vordergrund gestellt,
indem ein Raum des Austausches und Miteinanders geschaffen wird.
Gegründet wurde der Verein 'Töchter der Kunst' 2008 von den in Wien ansässigen
jungen Allround-Künstlerinnen Chantal Stummer und Nico Wind, die schon seit einigen Jahren
im Bereich darstellender und bildender Kunst tätig sind.

About our association:
TÖCHTER DER KUNST, consisting mainly of women, is a platform
used to realise multi-discipline art projects. It targets critical examination
of social norms.
Founded in May 2008, Töchter der Kunst is an association of young artists
that aims to develop and produce theatre plays, performances based on
acting or dancing and other artistic events of diverse kinds.
The association specifically concentrates on networking between various
movements of art, putting some emphasis on the cooperation with young
and/or female artists. It places great value on the promotion of female
presence in the art scene, because as we experienced, it is still dominated
by male artists. Besides, there are more women interested and working in this metier.
Moreover, the association's ambition is to support artistic cultural exchange
since art is a universal language and, therefore, should be spoken fluently and frequently
(especially by Austria's young talents!).
